Almost like a cobbler, this is an interesting mix of fruits nestled inside delicate pastry.
Nectarine Blackberry Crumble
5-6 nectarines, pitted and diced
3 half-pints blackberries, hulled
2 1/8 cup sugar
1 1/4 cup plus 1 1/2 tsp. flour
1 teaspoon baking powder
1 egg
4 oz. melted butter
Toss nectarines in a bowl with sugar and 1/4 cup and 1 1/2 teaspoons of flour. Add in blackberries and set aside in a large baking dish.
Mix 1 cup flour, 1 cup sugar and 1 tsp. baking powder. Beat egg and add to mixture. Form into small crumbs. Pour over fruit filling. Drizzle melted butter over top. Bake at 350 degrees for 50 minutes to 1 hour until crust is golden and cooked throughout.
